Often times people tell me that I'm way different on the phone & in person then on the net.
My response to that is you are probably right. I'm very strict on the net because one has to be. Once I know the person/people are relatively what I'm seeking & serious, then I loosen up quite a bit.
If people on the net listened & respected others, I probably wouldn't be so strict & demanding, but clearly people are NOT this way on the net & anyone who has been on the net for a while knows this as a fact.
I just wanted to bring up this issue as it's not the first time I've heard this because you may think you can figure people out by a few e-mails, but no one can. My method is to make sure you know what I'm seeking in a person & relationship & for you to tell me yes that is me & yes that is similar to what I'm seeking in a relationship. Then we get to know each other's personalitys via the phone & in person.
The net is emotionless for the most part as most people don't know how to write.
People also can say whatever they want via the written word, but it would be harder for them to lie in person about these facts.
Although some people can express their sense of humour through their e-mails, IMing & any sites they have, most people can not nor do people feel the lightness or sense of humour.
